"Wind Down Thursdays" Concert Schedule Announced

The Boulevard at the Capital Centre Hosts 6th Annual Free Summer Concert Series

WHAT: The Boulevard at the Capital Centre (The BLVD) welcomes back its 6th
Annual Wind Down Thursdays, a summer concert series, on Thursday,
June 7, 2012. Every Thursday until August 23rd, The BLVD will close the
center’s traffic circle at Restaurant Row from 6:30 – 8:30 pm and feature
live family-oriented entertainment from local artists and bands.

“The ever-popular Wind Down Thursdays continues to attract thousands
of professionals and families from the surrounding business and
residential communities,” said Kenneth Baker, general manager for The
BLVD. “Last summer, we witnessed the average weekly concert
attendance increase by 33% from the previous year.”

“This year, we are pleased to announce that several of the bands will
spotlight student talent. Throughout the 2012 season, young musicians
are scheduled to accompany the artists on stage during a song or set,”
said Baker.

The concerts, sponsored by Toyota of Bowie, are free to the public.
Patrons are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy the sounds of
smooth jazz and soulful R&B music.
