“Get Kids Movin!” Returns To The Boulevard at the Capital Centre
Sports Zone Elite Focuses on Fall Fashion, Fitness and Fun at The BLVD
The Boulevard at the Capital Centre (The BLVD) will welcome the "Fall, Fitness, FOCUS Edition" of Get Kids Movin! with Chi Chi Monet, a 10-year-old inspirational artist on Saturday, September 14th at The Circle near Restaurant Row. The FREE, outdoor, family-friendly event, designed by Sports Zone Elite and Think Brown Ink, will prepare kids both physically and mentally for the fall season.
Inspired by First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” initiative, “Get Kids Movin!” aims to create a community of health-conscience youth. The event encourages parents and children to lead healthy lifestyles through interactive physical activity, healthy eating workshops, musical performances and a fashion show.
Event programming will feature:
- Hip-Hop Dance with Lelabelle's Studio of Dance
- Beans-n-Frank Edutainment Puppet Duo Performance
- Zumba Fitness with Kena Hodges
- Drama & Poetry from We Make Dreams Work, Inc.
- Fitness session led by Celebrity Nike Trainer Deanna Jefferson
- Performance by Chi Chi Monet, a 10-year-old inspirational rapper/creator of kids anthems “No Bully” and “Move”
- Kids Fashion Show presented by Sports Zone Elite with Angelic Expressions Models
"We are thrilled to work with our retailers on events and initiatives that provide energetic programming to inspire the area youth on nutrition, education and health," said Kenneth Baker, general manager for The BLVD.
